However, with such a wide selection, it can sometimes be a bit difficult to do so, so there are a few nuances to be aware of before doing so.

How to choose an LED bulb?

LED technology in brief

LED lighting technology is the latest and most modern lighting technology of this time, which still has no analogues. This technology is no longer new, so we will mention only its essential advantages compared to conventional light sources:

  • Energy consumption. Compared to incandescent bulbs, LED technology can save up to 80% of electricity without losing light output.
  • Let's say a 60W incandescent bulb gives ~600lm light flux, while in the meantime 6W filament LED bulb gives 750lm light flux. This is 10 times lower energy consumption but higher light flux.
  • Color of light. When choosing LED technology lamps, a big advantage is the choice of light color, often the manufacturer can offer several versions of lamps. As a standard, it is 2700K-3000K warm white light color, 4000K-4500K neutral white (such light color is emitted by fluorescent lamps, often also called daylight lamps) and 6000K-65000K cold white color.
  • Service time. Quality LED bulbs can last from 17h to 000h, while the average life of an incandescent bulb is 25h.

LED light color

The color of LED light is measured in Kelvin (K). The main ranges in which the light color is indicated are from 2700K to 6500K, but you can also find other criteria light colors on sale, but it is mostly used in industry or specific projects.

LED light color is divided into three types:

  • 2700K-3200K – warm white color;
  • 4000K-4500K – daylight or neutral white;
  • 6000K-6500K - cool white

What do you need to know when choosing an LED bulb?

  • Plinth size;
  • Bulb size and shape;
  • The room where the lamp will be used;
  • Light flux
  • Bulb efficiency
  • Light scattering angle
  • Lamp operating time
